Minutes of the Annual General Meeting 18th March 2015

Present. 25 members. Martin Amos presided.

Martin welcomed the presence of our National Patron Ian D.Wright.

President’s report – Martin read his report, written copies being circulated. That report thanked the 2014/15 committee and its sponsors. Activities and achievements during the year were impressive: 3 subsidised Tararua fly­ins produced 21 deer for the 34 members. 3 Wanganui paid fallow hunts on Aranui station.

A successful August Open night. A variety of monthly speakers. Successful Douglas scoring seminar produced extra qualified scorers. 2 successful firearms training/licencing events. Two firewood working bees produced $3500 revenue. Our club membership has increased by 18% this year.

Brief comment on projected events for 2015/16: A mobile hut will be available for hire. Discussions with DOC are progressing for access to landlocked Reserves. Branch hunts to White Rock stations will commence after April.

In concluding, President Martin announced Branch Life Membership to retiring Secretary Howard Egan.

Financial report. Secretary spoke on behalf of Treasurer Richard O’Driscoll who was unable to be present. Statements of Financial performance and Financial position were distributed to the meeting. Total income $11,716, total expenditure $12,564.

Total Society Funds $107,920. Reports accepted Tracy A./Grahame H..

Auditor. The meeting confirmed Bill Duncan as auditor for 2015/2016 year. (Martin A./Pete C.)

Appointments/Elections. Secretary read the names of returning committee: Martin Amos, Tracy Amos, Richard O’Driscoll, Phil Gray, Paul Sayer, Steve Playle, Aidan Bichan, Alex Beesley, Brad Gardiner. Nominations called for: Paul O”Donoghue

Presentation by Vice­President. “Activities”.

Tracy spoke on the wish to establish small Support groups to work alongside the committee. The time commitment is not expected to be more than 4 or 5 hours per year. She also displayed a small range of Ridgeline hunting clothing which will be produced as a “Wairarapa deerstalkers” range. Monsoon jackets, Zip shirts, Kids’ gear. All at discounted prices. Order forms were shown. Life member Pete Cunningham spoke on trends and philosophies in firearm and mountain safety. Supported by a dvd. Supper and chat.
